Denis Bourg grew up in Eastern France. He attended Contrexeville Cooking School in 1927 and by age 17 was Head Chef at La Grenouville restaurant on the island of Saint Martin. Denis ran other Caribbean restaurants then leaving to work across the US before returning to Europe, to Paris and London.
